Teddy Bear Hospital

Hey everyone, we're Teddy Bear Hospital🐻!

We are a fun and free student-led society that runs events to teach (the cutest) primary school children all about their own health and what happens in hospital. Anyone who enjoys working with children is welcome to join!

We run our hour-long sessions most Wednesday afternoons (1330-1430) in the medical school at Ninewells, with some in the evening for Rainbows or Beavers groups in the Dundee area. The kids and their teddies will rotate through 6 stations (led by you!) where they will learn about a range of healthcare related topics in a fun and friendly way. Our big aim is to help reduce the anxiety that many young children have about visiting the doctors. We give you all the information you need the week before, provide you with the props and will be there to coordinate these sessions so that you and the children will have the best time! It's also a great opportunity for you to practice your comms skills and you will receive a portfolio certificate for volunteering.

With current times we're still working out how these sessions will run this year but drop us a message from your university email address with your name and we'll add you to our mailing list so you can be the first to sign up to our sessions and stay up to date on all things TBH (did someone say bake sales?!). We're also looking for a new 1st year rep at the moment, so more info to follow when you sign up!
