Medic Insight

Medic Insight provides school pupils from Tayside, Perth & Kinross, Angus and Fife with an opportunity to learn about a career in medicine. We work with clinicians from NHS Tayside to put together sessions for pupils from S1 to S5. These sessions involve talks from a vast range of clinicians and interactive workshops such as an intro to the ABCDE assessment. Our most important events are our clinical work experience weeks in June where S5 pupils are able to shadow doctors on the wards, attend clinics and surgery, whilst taking part in UCAT, interview and ethical workshops run by the committee.

Unfortunately due to covid-19, most of our sessions and work experience placements had to be cancelled this year, however we were able to get involved in a UK wide conference providing a virtual workshop for pupils on medical interview technique - this was a new challenge for the committee but turned out to be very successful and we really enjoyed ourselves!

Medic Insight are constantly looking for students to volunteer at our events, and our AGM is yet to take place this year, so please get in touch if you're interested in getting involved! 😊
