What is SNIMS?

SNIMS stands for Scottish & Northern Irish Medical Sports, and it is known to all Scottish and Northern Irish medical students as the biggest event on the social calendar. The weekend consists of arriving at the host city on a Friday evening, collecting some merch and goodie bags, and attending the SNIMS Opening Ceremony (huge night out)!

The following Saturday morning the games commence and a range of various sports are played between Universities. Saturday evening consists of another night out, but this time in fancy dress!

SNIMS rotates between Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow every four years!

It's tradition for the host's students to put up the attending students in their flats. Sleeping bags are recommended... or not ;)

Who takes part?

Each year around 1500 medical students get together to participate in SNIMS! The following Universities are represented, however, there is certainly room for more to take part in the future!

SNIMS History

Each year there is a SNIMS Shield to be won on Saturday Night for the best overall University!
